Paul and Matt left yesterday in the 206 heading to Sleetmute where the Spadys are filling in as teachers for a missionary couple who just had a baby. The Spadys taught school for four years there many years ago, and were thrilled to see many of their old students, now grown. Unfortunately one of their old students died in a plane crash shortly after the Spadys arrived. Paul and Matt stayed only a few hours to encourage the Spadys, then headed out to another village on the lower Yukon river. They are heading back to Kenai through Aniak later today.
Rob is heading out tomorrow morning for Bethel and Mekoryuk for a few days, and plans are coming together for the Pilot Point trip this coming weekend. Also coming up this week is an Alaskan Missions Summit. For the first time, mission agencies from around the state will be meeting to discuss how they can better communicate and work together to reduce duplication of effort and achieve a better efficiency in spreading the Gospel. Please pray for this summit, for humility of all attending, and unity in Christ.
