August 29 Update

Posted by admin on August 29, 2011

Just weeks ago a team left Koyuk, Alaska having built a 20x20' shop building with the hopes that the pastor could use it to meet with and minister to people who don't or wouldn't attend church as they work on ATVs or snow mobiles.  A request has already been made to use the shop to that end!

The work team in Port Lions has been getting much accomplished on the pastor’s house, including electrical work, roofing, and installing a wood stove.  They will be returning on the ferry tomorrow, tired but happy!  The pastor and his wife are equally happy to see the rapid progress on their future home.??

Matt Zeigler and Dustin Hibbard met today in Denver to fly up the Piper Lance that was donated to Arctic Barnabas Ministries.  Facebook users will be able to track their progress starting Wednesday through our SPOT satellite tracking system.  Pray for safety and good weather as they cross the western states and through Canada!

Vince and Marylil Spady (associate staff) are enjoying the beautiful weather today as they wrap up a few days in the Iliamna area where they were visiting and encouraging two ministry families.

Our annual Ministry Family Retreat is fast approaching and we still have four openings for volunteers in our children’s program.  Volunteers would need to be in Anchorage by Sunday afternoon, September 25 and would be done by Friday afternoon, September 30.   Cost is $400 per person plus airfare to Anchorage. This $400 includes the flight to and from the camp, food, and lodging.  If you are interested, call our office at 907-283-3377 and ask for Mike, or email him directly:  mike@abmalaska.org.
