February 20 Update

new_206_engine.JPGThe new engine for the Cessna 206 is here!  We are waiting for engine baffling to be rebuilt (rubber pieces that keep air flowing over the right places on the engine to cool it—think VW Beetle).  The baffling must be installed on the engine before it can be installed on the aircraft and should arrive tomorrow so we are on schedule to have the engine on the plane by the end of the week. Flight training for four of our staff pilots will start when everything has been tested and broken in, which should start in early March.  It’s first trip to the bush is scheduled for March 12.

We will be hosting another Ladies Retreat in Kenai March 8-10.  We currently have only a few ladies registered for the event, but it is not uncommon for these events to have almost nobody coming until the week before the event.  Please be praying for just the right ladies to be able to come and good weather for traveling too!  We are again looking forward to ladies from Colorado joining us in hosting this event.  The material for these retreats has been from Francis Chan’s Crazy Love, and has been so powerful for these ladies that one of the previous attendees asked recently if our ladies would come and present it for a Ladies Retreat she was planning in her area.

Rob attended Genesis Process training last week in Fairbanks.  It is an excellent tool for preventing relapse in substance abuse, and has a church “change group” curriculum too.  Rob had heard great things about it and wanted to learn more before recommending it for pastors as a tool for their counseling toolbox.  He now heartily recommends it and enjoyed reviewing and learning to apply truths like, “Grace is seeing and having a relationship with a person’s heart, rather than their behavior.”  Thank the Lord that this is the kind of relationship he extends to us!  Check it out at www.genesisprocess.org.
