Josh Metsker

Josh Metsker is a lifelong Christ follower whose faith was shaped early through a deeply involved Christian family, youth ministry, and mission work. After giving his life to Christ at age five, his spiritual journey grew through Kansas City Youth for Christ, multiple overseas mission trips, and formative college‑age ministry experiences. His deployment to Iraq as a Missouri Army National Guard officer became another defining season, where serving alongside a chaplain and an on‑base church strengthened his walk with Christ.

Throughout adulthood, Josh has invested heavily in discipleship and leadership within the local church and his community. He has served as a youth small‑group leader, Sunday School teacher, and character and leadership coach for multiple high school programs, including football teams and a marching band. Teaching, mentoring, and modeling servant leadership have become central expressions of his calling, shaped by years of guiding young men and women both spiritually and personally.

In 2018, Josh felt a clear calling to rural Alaska after participating in a scouting trip focused on least‑reached communities. Since then, he and his family have returned regularly to support missionaries and build relationships across the state. With a heart for Alaska’s unique challenges, leadership experience from the military and ministry, and training as an instrument‑rated pilot pursuing advanced certifications, Josh feels uniquely equipped to serve on the ABM board. He remains committed to following Christ wherever he is called and supporting those serving in remote Alaskan communities.
