“God continues to amaze me in all that He does in my life even in my ignorance. I read the book The Making of a Leader by J. Robert Clinton a few years ago. The emphasis was not like many of the other books that I had read on leadership from Maxwell and others; the premise was that if we look back through out our life story we would be able to see God’s hand in bringing about situations and people who help us to become the person/leader that God is transforming us into. This was such a refreshing, Godlike, exciting view to try to grasp. Most of my life has been more of a Mr. McGoo type lifestyle… In thinking about my story & journey to this point I would say that I’m thankful as He has led me. I am blessed to serve with Alaska Mission Connection as the mission is uniting and networking the body of Christ in Alaska, my ministry role seems to be a natural one for me to move into. Looking back, I can see how God has prepared me for this role.”

January was a busy month for Ted and I as we prayed, strategized, and traveled to Oregon for The 2014 NW Mission ConneXion conference. The picture above shows me (Scott, center) and Ted Franke (end, left). During the week that we were at Mission ConneXion, we experienced many “God moments”…The two that stand out the most for me would be: 1) We were able to connect & encourage a fellow pastor and friend just at the right time and 2) God coordinated a way for me to meet the founder of Mission ConneXion, Bill McLeod. We had the pleasure to talk and dream together of how we could connect in the future.
Lela Writes: “This month I was blessed to be able to learn the AMC website www.akmissionconnection.org and how to add/edit information onto it. I took several evenings and went through a long list of organizations that had not yet been added to the AMC website and proceeded to add them. I did this to help Scott out since he is so busy. I found great joy in doing this task. Scott later told me how much this task really helped him and took a huge load off of his shoulders. I love it when the body can work together to achieve a goal and God gets the Glory for it. I feel that our Heavenly Father smiles down on us and that it pleases Him greatly when he sees His children helping each other out.
