Tyler and Melissa met in Kansas in 1996 and married in 1999. After twelve years in Northern Colorado, God called us to move to Alaska. The summer of 2011, we made the journey with five kids in tow and one on the way (8 mths pregnant!). We now have nine children, four boys and five girls, ranging in age from 24 yrs to 4 yrs old, and one daughter-in-law. Tyler owns his own business as a general contractor and I have been a stay-at-home mom until 2018, when I entered into the workplace in administrative roles. I have a BS in Psychology and Christian Counseling, from Liberty University. I started with ABM in December 2024, as the office manager.
Tyler and I love to travel, were both raised in Gospel believing homes and have a heart for missions. Over the years, we’ve not known how the Lord would choose to use us in missions, but He has opened the doors for service in various ways for our family: Tyler has been involved in missions global education through the Prospectives Discipleship course and traveled to Haiti spring of 2011 to help in rebuilding efforts after the devastating earthquake. Some of our children have been on short and long term mission trips to Mexico and most recently, Sweden. My position with Arctic Barnabas Ministries is another way God has fulfilled our desire to be used, and we look forward to offering our talents and abilities to further the Kingdom.
