The Ministry of Nails & Hammer

ABM Missionary: Paul Hadfield

Ministry Trip Location: Nenana, Alaska (285.67 miles by air)

Purpose: Equipping through construction & pastoral care

Nenana, AK

Recently, our ABM missionary Paul Hadfield took a flight to visit a ministry family serving in the village of Nenana, Alaska. This village has approximately 391 people and is far north of our hangar in Kenai, Alaska. One of the joys of our ministry work is being able to do ministry within the realm of the unique skill set God has given each of us.

Paul’s mission work in Nenana last week was two fold:

1) He flew out to Nenana to offer encouragement and prayer to the pastoral family living in the town. This time is indeed needed as it gave time for prayer, relationship & connection with an outside missionary as a peer. On-field pastoral & missionary care helps prevent the isolation & burnout common to workers living in bush villages.

2) No strings attached help in practical ways! Paul was able to do some amazing work with them in completing an addition in their home. This helped them greatly as they continue to live and do ministry in their village that is limited by its resources & location. Time & again we’ve seen the boost this type of nail & hammer ministry has given to God’s workers! It’s a reminder to them that they are NOT alone and that God does provide for them as they live out their calling, we can live out ours.

A few weeks ago one pastor we serve elsewhere said: “it seems that when you least expect it and most need it that something shows up in your mail or on your doorstep from Arctic Barnabas”.

We’re so grateful that God allows us to minister in such practical and significant ways. It’s because of the obedience & stewardship of our Ministry Partners that the love of Jesus continues to be shared in the most extreme & remote places. Thank You!
